Event 3: Green Economy Forum & Exhibition (GEFE)

Outline
The EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation is organising the business mission "EU-Japan Green Business Cooperation with Vietnam" to connect EU and Japanese companies interested in working together in Vietnam and with Vietnamese partners. This business mission will include participation in the Green Economy Forum & Exhibition (GEFE) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from 28 to 30 November 2022 (arrival in Vietnam on 27 November).
The Green Economy Forum & Exhibition is an event organised by the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham Vietnam) at Sala's THISO SkyHall in Ho Chi Minh City. The event's primary objective is to support Vietnam in achieving its COP26 commitments and the socio-economic development goals specified in its National Green Growth Strategy for 2021-2030 by bringing European green technology to Vietnam.

Format
- Participants can physically take part in this business mission. By attending the Green Economy Forum & Exhibition in person, participants will be able to meet directly with visitors and maximise their chances to find business partners.
- Hybrid participation will also be possible. In this case, the EU-Japan Centre’s staff will set up the individual space for the company within the booth with posters and brochures and help arrange online meetings with visitors showing interest in the company
Target companies
- European green tech* companies or industrial clusters already active in Japan and/or already working with Japanese partners, and looking to expand their business in Vietnam with their Japanese partners.
- European green tech* companies or industrial clusters interested in the Vietnamese market and looking for Japanese and Vietnamese business partners.
- Non-EU companies from countries participating in the COSME programme are also eligible for this business mission: Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein.
* E.g. renewable energy, water treatment, waste management, sustainable buildings, green tourism, sustainable agriculture, etc.

| Cost | The EU-Japan Centre will cover the costs specific to the GEFE trade fair for eligible EU SMEs and Clusters who have applied to the Centre’s “EU-Japan Green Business Cooperation Mission with Vietnam." Large companies can participate but will need to cover the costs of the fraction of the booth that they will occupy during GEFE in addition to their travel costs, accommodation, etc. To be covered by all participants: - Flight to/from Ho Chi Minh City - Accommodation and meals - Transportation to/from GEFE - Visa process for your stay in Vietnam - Medical/Travel insurance (insurance covering COVID-19 treatment with a minimum liability of US$10,000 is required by the government of Vietnam) - Refundable deposit of 1,000 EUR (to be refunded upon receiving your answers to our event questionnaire) A grant of 480 EUR per company will be provided to the selected EU SMEs and clusters upon completion of the physical business mission without any day of absence. |
